Just One More Chapter

I consider myself to be a professional reader that can sometimes be a bit snarky. I'm a tattoo'd, yoga pants wearing, mom of 2 boys.

Wow, Wow, Wow! I love a book that has a dirty talking alpha male & holy crap this book did not disappoint! This was a panty melting, thigh clenching book. I friggin loved it! It was also sweet & swoony.

Full review to come!

Arouse - Nina Lane

This is one of those books that leaves you speechless. A book that you wish you could read & experience again for the first time. A review won't do this book justice because anything I say, won't be be good enough. So, I'll just say that if you haven't read this book yet, read it! You won't regret it!

Her Best Friend's Lover - Shiloh Walker

What's that saying? If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Well, that's what I have to say about this book.

Lovegame - Tracy Wolff

This book was very close to becoming a 'dnf' for me. I've loved most of Tracy Wolff's books but, this one wasn't for me. The alternating pov's threw me off because it didn't state who's pov you were reading. The characters name should've been before the chapter so you knew who's pov you were about to read. I also wasn't a fan of the story that was being told. It wasn't until about 40% in that the book picked up for me but, by then I was no longer invested in the book. The sex between the characters was wicked hot but, that's about it.

Calendar Girl: Volume Four - Audrey Carlan

I loved how this book ended. I was hoping for a Wes & Mia centered book & I'm so glad that the last Volume of this series was that. I was on Team Wes since January, when she met him. This series was so not what I expected. It was so much better! It was a beautiful journey for Mia of not only self discovery but, also how she could love herself better, put herself first & to go after what she wanted. It was also a story of family & love. How family isn't always blood related but, what you make it. How having good friends in your life is important. I feel like I should also say this series was super hot & sexy! Like WICKED HOT & SEXY!!! I loved the sexy 'dirty' talk Wes would say to Mia while getting it on. Wes quickly turned into one of my favorite book boyfriends. Mia also is one of my favorite heroines now. She was unapologetic, strong & had a backbone. Mia & Wes together, an unstoppable force. They also helped one another get through some pretty traumatic events.
I flew through this series. Couldn't put it down. It was so well written & the storyline held your attention from the first word to the last.

Calendar Girl: Volume Three - Audrey Carlan

I totally want to be an escort now, lol. There were some twists in this volume that I did not see coming. I love how everything is transpiring! Now onto the final volume of this remarkable series!

Calendar Girl: Volume Two - Audrey Carlan

I'm flying through this series! This volume had some twists & turns which I thought was good for the storyline. I also love how we saw some other 'clients' in this volume. Mia's clients are turning into family & friends which I love. I have to say, this series is not turning out like I thought it would. I thought every month would read the same with Mia sleeping with her clients but, that's not at all what's happening. She's more of a companion to most of them. This is also turning into a journey of self discovery for Mia. She's so used to putting her sister & dad before her, taking care of them & being a mother figure to her sister. Even though she's escorting to pay her dad's debt off, she's also learning form the experience with each client. Each story is very well told & very well written.

Calendar Girl: Volume One - Audrey Carlan

This book wasn't really what I was expecting. Pleasantly surprised though! I guess I thought it would be more like the show Diary of A Call Girl (good show check it out of you like this series). I love Mia & her spunky attitude. I love Wes & am Team Wes all the way! Wasn't particularly fond of Alec our February guy & I loved March! Love that Wes visited her! I love how she helped Tony & Hector come out. I also love the notes she leaves each guy when their times up & she has to leave. I was hoping for more plot on her fathers storyline though. I'm assuming there's more to that story with the other Volumes in this series. Can't wait to start Vol. 2!

Stepping Over the Line: A Stepbrother Novel (Shamed) - Laura Marie Altom

This book didn't really work for me. I think when it comes to stepbrother romance books, there's a fine line on how it's written. You either love this genre or you don't. For me, I'm not a huge fan & it can go either way. Now, I will say I liked the characters Garrett & Savannah as individuals. Together, not so much & here's why.
The way they grew up. They grew up like brother & sister. They called their respective step-parents mom & dad (or daddy). They were best friends as brother & sister. Their dynamic just wasn't there for me. I also wasn't to crazy about the plot. One of my pet peeves in books is a surprise pregnancy or child. Is that the new thing now with books? I wish those books came with a warning about that. Once I find out there's a surprise pregnancy or kid while I'm reading a book, that book looses ratings & I automatically start not liking that book. I have read books (very few & far between) where that does work for the story being told. It did not work here. When Savannah found out she was pregnant with Garret's baby (and then also told her 'fiancé' it was his) that's when I rolled my eyes & started skimming the book.
So, you're either going to love this book or not. As you can see it wasn't for me but, it could be for you.

This is Love, Baby (War & Peace Book 2) - RE&D - Vanessa Leret Bridges, K. Webster

This book picks up exactly where Love is War Baby leaves off & This does end in an HEA. It wasn't as dark as the first book in this duology but, it does have its fair share of twisted excitement, violence & love. The ending was a bit of a shocker & I didn't see it coming but, I should have. Which goes to show you how well this story was written. This duology was the first time I've read anything by this author & I will definitely read more of her books!

This is War, Baby - RE&D - Vanessa Leret Bridges, K. Webster

This book was deliciously dark & twisted. I didn't know how I would feel about it with the subject matter but, it was so well written, different, very dark & fast paced. I loved every minute of it. This book crossed lines, dealt with subject matter that's harsh & kept you on the edge of your seat. It was rough, raw & emotional. On the other hand, there is light, love & happiness too. Highly recommend this book!

After You - Jojo Moyes

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I loved it & couldn't put it down but, I wasn't a big fan of one of the main story lines. I do not like 'surprise' kids in books that no one knew about. I don't know why, I just don't. That was a big part of this book. It worked in this case but, I still didn't love it. I did have high expectations for this book. Me Before You is one of my favorite books & I didn't think it needed a sequel. This book didn't live up to MBY but it was still good.

Naive - Kaden Matthews

This was one of the worst books if not the worst book I've ever read! I've never read about a heroine who was so extremely selfish & narcissistic. A heroine who sleeps around doesn't bother me. A heroine who sleeps around with married men knowingly bothers me. A heroine who who chooses partying over her own child & pawns her off on others bothers me. The hero wasn't much better because he was spineless & didn't try hard enough to get his voice heard. The writing & the plot made me want to bang my head against a wall.

Fighting Dirty - Sidney Halston

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would! I absolutely loved this book (and this series). I didn't want it to end!

~Full review to come!

Fighting Dirty - Sidney Halston

I'm almost can't contain my excitement to be starting this book! I absolutely love this series!

Fighting for Devlin: A Lost Boys Novel - Jessica Lemmon

This was a super sweet & sexy book! It had just the right amount of swoony sweet & sexy. I've seen a lot of people calling this a 'bad boy' book but, I didn't think it was at all. Devlin was a hot alpha male but he wasn't a jerk alpha male. Yeah he was an enforcer for a bookie but, even the bookie in the book was a nice guy. Devlin also inherited his fathers restaurant which is where he met Rena.

Rena is a new waitress at Devlin's upscale restaurant & she's been through some tragedy in her life. Devlin is the first guy she's been attracted to in 4 years. Things start off a little rocky with these 2 but, they manage to get on the straight and narrow!

What I really liked about this book was that there wasn't any angst, It was fast paced & kept your attention the whole way through. This was the first book I've read by this author & I'll definitely read more!
